Startul Brand History

Startul's history is linked to European toolmaking traditions and the name of Walter Ziegler, the designer and engineer who pioneered the brand and developed specialized precision tools. The brand's roots lie in a factory founded in 1949 by Sudeten German immigrants from Czechoslovakia, which produced tools for jewelry and glass processing.
The company operated successfully in this format for several decades, but in the late 1990s and early 2000s, unable to compete with cheaper manufacturers, the factory was closed. In 2004–2005, the management and engineering staff of the former manufacturer created the international holding company Skipfire, headquartered in Cyprus, and launched the Startul brand in the mid-price professional hand tool segment.
By 2009, manufacturing contracts had been signed with factories in Germany, Poland, China, Taiwan, India, and other countries, expanding the product line to several thousand items and establishing the brand's presence in the markets of the European Union, the CIS, and the Pacific Rim. In 2020, the Startul brand became part of the international corporation ECO Group, headquartered in Hong Kong with offices in China, Kazakhstan, Poland, Belarus, and Russia, strengthening its position in the global market and accelerating the development of its product line. Today, Startul continues to develop as an international brand, combining a European engineering approach, a global production base, and centralized quality control by the holding's technical laboratory.
